Manager, Crisis Planning & Operations (Diseases Outbreak)
You will be responsible for developing and implementing the hospital's infectious disease outbreak response plans. Working under the guidance of the health ministry and in close consultation with clinical and operational stakeholders, this role oversees the creation of comprehensive scenarios and response strategies for managing infectious disease outbreaks. You will support hospital departments in developing their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manages staff training programs and relevant assets, and coordinates the hospital's response during crisis situations to ensure effective implementation of established protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Report to CPO HOD on the development and progress as well as operational readiness of the hospital’s emergency response plans in relation to Disease Outbreak and other related situations
- Assist the CPO HOD to develop the contingency plans and SOPs for clinical and operational responses for various emergencies, in consultation with various hospital stakeholders (both clinical and operations); the health ministry; other ministries and agencies
- Work with the CPO HOD to carry out studies to identify critical healthcare infrastructures, compile funding requirements, and secure funding both internally and with MOH
- Deputize the CPO HOD in the daily operations of the CGH Operations Centre during peacetime in the areas of surveillance of hospital operations, nosocomial and other types of related-outbreaks, and collation of data for effective decision making and resource management
- Assist CPO HOD in leading the teams assigned to CGH Operations Centre in times of disease outbreaks, to effect a coordinated hospital response to the situation
- Work with CPO Civil Emergency unit in managing the Hospital’s Emergency Preparedness Program Funding (EPPF) accorded by the Ministry of Health for Disease Outbreak-related expenditures, to ensure prudence in usage of funding
- Ensure that KPI reports to MOH are prepared and submitted in a timely manner
- Take on special projects or duties when assigned by CPO HOD, Division Head and/or Management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management or any other relevant discipline
- Additional professional qualification would be advantageous e.g. Epidemiology
- Minimum 8 years of working experience in crisis planning in an acute healthcare setting, preferably in infection prevention & control, epidemiology, and / or outbreak management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Independent worker, possess initiative to complete tasks and projects assigned
