The Department of TRaCS was established to enhance workforce and community resilience through preventive education in mental health. TRaCS is made up of educators, trainers and counsellors to promote a culture of positive mental wellness in workplace and community.

 

As a Counsellor in TRaCS, you will provide a high standard of counselling and support to individuals and families who present a range of mental health issues including post-traumatic symptoms, interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges. You are expected to conduct talks, workshops and trainings as well as be involved in community outreach project work. You will be engaged in developmental work to create awareness for mental health related subject areas.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Administer screening for trauma related inpatient and outpatient cases
  • Provide professional counselling sessions at outpatient clinic
  • Provide psychological group support for staff and corporate clients
  • Liaise with other interdisciplinary trauma teams with regard to management and continuity of care for patients
  • Perform as onsite crisis mental health professional to corporate clients contracted under TRaCS Crisis Response Service
  • Develop and deliver content for talks and workshops related to mental health and building resilience
  • Develop new counselling services arising from outcomes of research

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Masters in Counselling with preferably 5 years of relevant experience; apply theoretical knowledge of trauma and crisis interventions in the provision of counselling
  • At least 2 years working experience as a Counsellor with local family service centre or community setting preferred
  • Training or teaching experience to adult learners essential; proven track record  of training programme development and management
  • Apply theoretical knowledge and skills to plan, organize and lead therapeutic groups
  • Registered Counsellor with Singapore Association for Counselling
  • High EQ/Strong in interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiently bilingual
  • Conscious team player and ability to work with professionals from other disciplines
  • Candidate must have fully completed Covid 19 vaccinations
