Director, Operations, Eastern General Hospital Planning Office
The upcoming Eastern General Hospital (EGH) will provide a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient clinical specialties and healthcare services, covering emergency, acute and secondary care. Undergirded by the philosophy of digital-first and patient-centred care, EGH will harness innovative technologies in patient care, and journey closely with patients and the community to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Director, Operations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for development and commissioning across hospital support operations functions, smart facilities management, project and infrastructure planning, and sustainability.
In this capacity, you will lead the development and execution of operational strategies, service delivery models, and roadmaps to support the effective planning, development, and opening of EGH. The role is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of operational, infrastructural, and support service requirements into the broader hospital development efforts, while maintaining alignment with organisational objectives and national healthcare priorities.
You will work in close partnership with MOH, MOHH, SingHealth institutions, project consultants, and key stakeholders to drive key initiatives in operational readiness, workforce planning, commissioning, and service development.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline, preferably with a postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 16 years of relevant work experience, preferably in healthcare operations, hospital planning, operational readiness or large-scale transformation initiatives, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership or management position
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, service planning, organisational development and project management
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and engage senior stakeholders across multiple organisations
- Experience in hospital development, commissioning or operational readiness would be an advantage
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and decision-making capabilities
- Collaborative leader who is able to build strong partnerships, foster teamwork and influence diverse stakeholders towards achieving organisational goals
