Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in adult and elderly patients

  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans for patients with acute medical conditions

  • Provide direct therapy services in acute care wards, intensive care units, and emergency departments

  • Manage complex dysphagia cases and conduct bedside swallowing assessments

  • Collaborate with medical teams, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals in acute care planning

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress reports for rapid patient turnover

  • Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and discharge planning

  • For senior positions: supervise junior staff and students, mentor junior colleagues. Candidates without experience are welcome to apply.

 

Requirements For Candidates Without Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent

  • Eligible for registration with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) Singapore

  • Strong academic performance with clinical placement experience in adult/acute care settings preferred

  • Enthusiasm for working with adult and elderly populations

  • Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced acute care environments

 

For Experienced Candidates:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent

  • Registration with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) Singapore or eligibility for registration

  • Minimum 2-4 years of clinical experience in acute hospital or adult healthcare settings

  • Proven experience with adult dysphagia management and bedside swallowing assessments

  • Experience working with elderly patients and age-related communication disorders

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities

 

For All Candidates:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with adult and elderly patients

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute healthcare environment

  • Understanding of medical conditions affecting adult and elderly populations

  • Commitment to evidence-based practice in acute care settings
