Assistant Director, Development
We are seeking an experienced development and advancement professional who will play a key role in advancing significant and sustainable levels of philanthropic funding to support the causes and programmes of the KKH Health Fund and various Academic Clinical Programmes for women and children.
Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Assistant Director (AD) Development will provide leadership and be responsible to develop and drive key philanthropic initiatives and implement strategies to meet the institution’s strategic priorities. The AD will also provide daily operational oversight of the department and supervision of key fundraising functions such as Major Giving, Donor Relations & Stewardship, Development Communications, Capability Building, fundraising governance, as well as Corporate & Annual Giving. The AD will also work very closely with Senior leadership to develop KKH’s philanthropic strategies and plans.
The AD will be part of the fundraising team responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of transformational, major and annual gifts, and is expected to take the lead in the conceptualising, organising and coordinating of key fundraising and engagement events and efforts for KKH Health Fund (KKHHF), the Rare Disease Fund (RDF) and the Academic Clinical Programs (ACPs) within KKH.
In addition, the AD will also provide supervision for the development communications function within the team and ensure consistency in fundraising messages across all communication platforms and help the team develop effective communications plan for successful fundraising campaigns. The AD is expected to provide leadership and be the interface between internal and external stakeholders to help align the donors’ philanthropic purposes and intent with the organisation’s strategic goals. This includes actively engaging with various internal and external stakeholders to champion the organisation’s causes, so as to shape and establish impactful programmes that will benefit the health of women and children through philanthropic support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- At least 13 years’ experience with at least 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
- Experience as a development or communications professional with a proven record of professional fundraising success, including significant major gift or annual giving campaigns preferably in an academic or healthcare setting will be an advantage
- A team player with exceptionally well-developed and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good events management skills with a customer service orientation is required
- Self-directed, organized, discerning and enterprising with the ability to build a strong team, inspire and motivate others by example
- Adept at managing multiple stakeholders, projects and complex situations with a high level of integrity is a requirement
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills and be effectively bilingual
