Plaster Technician, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (Contract)

The Plaster Technician provides patient related services and performs application of plaster casts to meet the needs of the patients in the clinics, operating theatres and wards. The duties include:

• Applying and removing plaster casts under the direction of an orthopaedic surgeon

• Handling telephone calls and enquiries relating to casts

• Providing relevant advice to patients and their parents or caregivers

• Liaising with other healthcare professionals when necessary

• Performing plaster casting procedures in the wards, Children’s Emergency, or operating theatre when required

Job requirement

• Diploma or

• GCE N / O / A level, NITEC, Higher NITEC or equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience and demonstrated competency.
