For the role of a Resident Physician / Staff Registrar (KidSTART@KKH KIDS0-3), you will contribute to the KidSTART@KKH KIDS0-3 Home Visitation Programme as a clinician and a member in the trans-disciplinary team. You will provide consultative support to keyworkers for medical care aspects of the mother-child dyad.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Postnatal medical assessment/evaluation for infants during home visits.
  • Provide anticipatory guidance and health promotion for families.
  • Provide clinical advice and support for keyworkers in their management of the mother-child dyad.
  • Provide advisory expert input in multi-disciplinary case discussions (internal and external inter-agency platforms).
  • Care coordination for mother-child dyad by collaborating with healthcare colleagues and making referrals to hospital speciality clinics where required.
  • Collaboration with community partners, including facilitating referrals to Child Protection Service (CPS) when indicated.
  • To participate in Medical Teaching and Training for the team, especially in the areas of antenatal and immediate postnatal care, child health and child development.
  • To take part in programme initiated Continuing Medical Education and Research activities.
  • To conform to the appropriate standard of medical and clinical service quality within the department.

 

Job Requirements and Competencies

  • MBBS or equivalent basic medical degree;
  • (Preferred) Post-graduate medical qualification e.g. Masters of Medicine (Family Medicine/Paediatrics), MRCPCH, MRCOG, recognised by Singapore Medical Council;
  • At least 3 years’ of Medical Officer experience;
  • Able to perform independently in the Department;
  • Adaptive, a good team player and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Passionate and committed to work together with the team to improve the care of pregnant mothers and optimise child health and development of children from vulnerable families
