About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in advancing the Division’s research and innovation initiatives as well as strategic priorities by working with surgical Research Leads to design and develop clinical registries to enable AI applications and population health insights.
You will also contribute to bioinformatics development by integrating genomic data with surgical insights, with the aim of translating findings into broader population health strategies.
Through rigorous statistical expertise and data integration, you will support the translation of complex datasets into actionable outcomes that inform surgical care delivery, resource optimization, and long-term health system planning within the Division.
Your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Collection of data from various sources, and organizing it for analysisCollaborate with Division Research Leads to provide statistical and data analytics expertise across clinical and translational research projects.

Oversee the design and development of Health Data Registry by defining & examining outcomes of high complexity surgeries through reviewing and compiling surgical databases and electronic health records

Development of programs & strategies in preparation for a capitation financial healthcare financing model

Perform statistical and data analysis techniques to generate insights from the data to guide decision making

Development of the Health Services Research in Surgery by building a surgical population health database that can be harnessed by like-minded surgeon-scientist and operationalizing systemic implementation of PROMs in surgery using AI

Producing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
Job Requirements

Degree in Economics, Health Policy, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Biomedical Science or any relevant field.

Experience in coding (Python or R or SPSS)

Experience with database design and build, as well as bioinformatics and data registries development

Working knowledge of statistical software (SAS, STATA, R, SPSS) will be beneficial

Passionate about clinical and health service research to bring about positive impact to patients

Organized, meticulous and able to work independently and in a team.
