Reporting to the Ops Manager, the Safety Executive is responsible for Safety in NCCS's Research Division.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
(A) SPECIFIC (70%)
1. Safety
- Manage safety audits like WSH inspections, JCI, MOHH & external audits
- Manage Hazardous Substances / Explosive Precursors
- Manage Safety equipment like FSC, Corrosive cabinets, Safety cabinets, First Aid Kit, Emergency Showers, Eye Wash Stations
- Manage disposal of chemical waste, radioactive waste
- Conduct Safety course for new hires
- Trainer for centre-wide mask fitting
- Respond to emergency calls for lab incidents like sharps injuries, falls, etc
2. Administration
- Keep records of inventory for safety office consumables
- RFQ from vendors for purchase of safety equipment
- Provide Input & Coordinate for Risk Assessment documents
- Update Safety Policies
- Manage safety related incident reports
- Manage TLDs, GM counter
- Support application for EP, HS, N2, N3, R1, L3 - L6 licences
- Liaison with MOM, NEA, SCDF, SPF
- Secretariat duties for RBC
- Member of WSH, Radiation Committee, ICLO, CBT, DORS
- Attend safety related meetings
3. Training
- Conduct safety course for new hires
- Conduct orientation to new hires for Biohazard
(B) GENERAL (10 %) Other departmental administrative duties.
- Ad hoc duties as assigned by the Supervisor or HOD
- Examples: Contact Tracing & HDS
(C) Other Duties (20%)
- Logistics support for moving equipment to new building
- Facilitate equipment procurement & disposal of old equipment
- Decommissioning of old labs
- Management of waste disposal
Key Requirements:
- Technology/Science-related diploma/Engineering degree; OR
- Degree in Workplace Safety and Health
- At least 2 years' experience in Workplace Safety and Health related roles
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel & Power Point
