About the Role

 

Reporting to the Director of CEIS, you will provide strategic leadership, operational management and quality assurance of the unit while overseeing comprehensive patient support initiatives. This role collaborates closely with the multidisciplinary oncology team to provide seamless information, emotional support, and holistic care to patients at all stages of their cancer journey.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and supervise a team of nurse counsellors and support staff, ensuring delivery of evidence-based, patient-centred care and counselling for cancer patients and their families.
  • Ensures and maintains efficient system of communication of information to staff, patients & their family as well as the general public.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key community partners to collectively promote anti-cancer advocacy in line with NCCS corporate mission.
  • Increase patient satisfaction and public rating of NCCS through CEIS patient and family education programs and services.
  • Collaborate with departments within NCCS to share expertise, knowledge and leverage resources on cancer education materials/ programmes/ initiatives.
  • Evaluate patient care and service activities delivered are according to established standard.
  • Plan and coordinate yearly unit work plans, capital and operational budget as well as training budget for submission to HOD.
  • Monitor utilization of approved budget and resource allocation for the unit, ensuring cost-effective use of funds and update HOD.
  • Source for funding support to drive public/ patient & family education programmes and ensure smooth reimbursement from funding organization.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • A recognised Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Business management, health administration, public health, education or healthcare related fields; experience in a healthcare setting would be an advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial or equivalent role
  • Experience in education or outreach activities would be an advantage
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience in staff supervision, mentorship and professional development
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities
  • Adaptability to the emerging treatments and patient education needs
  • Committed, resilience under challenging situation/ environment; able to manage uncertainty
