Research Coordinator (DSSOJ)
The Laboratory of Applied Human Genetics at the National Cancer Centre Singapore is a multi-disciplinary laboratory with specific focus on peritoneal and sarcoma malignancies. The direction of our laboratory is to solve real world clinical problems via sound scientific translation. Since the conception of our laboratory 7 years ago, we have now set up three scientific pillars of Therapeutics, Companion Diagnostic and CAPTIVATE (Target Generation) pipeline. Currently, we are working towards a first-in-human therapeutic developed in our laboratory.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, meticulous and responsible Research Coordinator to work closely with a team of experienced researchers and the clinical team in cancer therapy for advanced metastatic disease. You will provide critical administrative support to transit our discovery to clinical reality. In addition, an interest in transiting scientific innovation to clinical care will be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Research and Admin
- Prepare and submit Institutional Review Board applications, amendments, continuing reviews and study closures
- Perform screening and assisting with informed consent process by providing information to potential participants for research studies
- Create source documents and any other research documents required for the successful conduct of a research study
- Assist in compilation of recruited participants’ data and maintain proper study documentation and records for auditing / archival purposes
- Ensure that all research activities are carried out in accordance with established research protocol and standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedural requirements
- Assist with collection and processing of biological specimens
- Work closely with research team to analyse, collate and compile research data for publication
2. To perform any other ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned
Job requirements
- Recognised Bachelor’s Degree, preferably of biomedical science/ health science background
- Prior relevant working experience in research coordination or IRB-related work will be an added advantage
- Comfortable in interacting with patients and able to converse in mainstream languages to handle patient queries on the research studies
- Meticulous, organized, analytical and committed to high quality standards
- Ability to exercise ethical judgement and discretion
- Positive attitude with a keenness to learn
- Able to work independently and interactively in a team setting, with excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Keen to pursue scientific innovation for better health care
- Interest in scientific research and willingness to engage in various aspects of the research processes and take on additional research projects will be advantageous
