The Laboratory of Applied Human Genetics at the National Cancer Centre Singapore is a multi-disciplinary laboratory with specific focus on peritoneal malignancies and sarcoma. The direction of our laboratory is to solve real world clinical problems via sound scientific translation.  Since the conception of our laboratory 7 years ago, we have now set up three scientific pillars of Therapeutics, Companion Diagnostic and CAPTIVATE (Target Generation) pipeline. Currently, we are working towards a first-in-human therapeutic developed in our laboratory.  We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Fellow to work with a team of researchers in the area of cancer therapy for advanced metastatic cancers. Interested applicants should have an extensive molecular biology experience to uncover the MOA/structure of our therapeutic using cellular signaling, cell biology or protein structure approaches and possess the desire to translate basic science to make a clinical impact. Previous work with genomic / CRISPR / proteomic screens (or similar) to understand the molecular biology of key oncogenic drivers will be an added advantage. 

Responsibilities:
- Establish bioassays for in-house screening pipelines to develop new therapeutics.
- Design complex experiments required for the projects.
- Drive and provide directions of ongoing projects.
- Contribute to grant writing, manuscript preparation and other dissemination activities such as presentations at local and international meetings.

Job Requirements:
- PhD in relevant areas of structural biochemistry, cancer biology, computational biology, pharmacology etc.  
- Extensive knowledge in drug development (e.g. target selection, generation of new molecule and structural biochemistry) and deciphering MOA via cellular signaling and cell biology approaches will be an added advantage.
- Candidate experienced in drug design computational software and in-silico 3D remodeling for drug development will be advantageous.
- Prior experience in biotech industries related to drug discovery and development will be preferred.
- Prior relevant working experience with in vivo work will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in benchtop experiments.
- Good publication track record indicated by first author publications in high quality journals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Able to work independently and interactively in a team setting, motivated, responsible and a fast learner.
