Research Officer (DMSTBT)
You will participate actively in a variety of research activities which include planning, organising and conducting research studies within the overall scope of a research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate, including but not limited to the following:
- Conduct accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental results and/or research findings. Research is focussed in areas of urban agriculture, agri-tech applications & research into regional ethnobotanical plants.
- Assist researchers in data collection, and literature review in various research projects (plant-based).
- Assist with general upkeep of research & pilot agri-tech space, provide technical support and establish work procedures to ongoing research projects and maintaining good safety record for audits.
- Contribute to project management, presentations, manuscript preparation & submission for publications.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.
Requirements:
- BSc with an aptitude for research with about 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Candidates with a good working knowledge of agri-tech (hydroponics/indoor farming/ agriculture) or diploma in urban agriculture is desirable.
- Knowledge of ethnobotany, plant genetics & manipulation will be advantageous.
- Must like horticulture as work nature involves working with vendors on small outdoor garden spaces & hydroponics systems.
- Possess strong interpersonal communications skills with excellent written, oral communication and computer skills.
- Candidate with a mindset in business acumen will be highly desirable.
- A strong team player who is mature, open-minded, energetic, highly motivated and can work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and diverse workforce.
