Senior Assistant Director (Operations Support Services)
About the Role
Join the National Cancer Centre Singapore as a Deputy Director/Senior Assistant Director in Operations Support Services, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our healthcare facility operates at the highest standards. This strategic leadership position offers the opportunity to oversee critical services that directly impact patient care, staff wellbeing, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Director of Operations Support Services, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across facilities management, space and tenancy services, housekeeping, sustainability initiatives, and engineering services. Your expertise will ensure these services operate efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with regulatory standards whilst maintaining a clean, safe, and conducive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop long-term strategic vision and planning for sustained operations of buildings, plants, and equipment
• Oversee infrastructural development and construction projects from conception to completion
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and industry best practices across all engineering disciplines
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programmes to minimise operational disruptions
• Lead housekeeping operations to maintain infection control and safety standards
• Oversee landscape maintenance, pest control, waste management, and linen services
• Manage tenancy operations including lease agreements, renewals, and tenant relationships
• Optimise office space planning for enhanced productivity and staff wellbeing
• Conduct compliance audits and facilitate regulatory inspections
• Manage resources such as personnel, equipment, and budgeting to support the organization's operational functions.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred)
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience
• At least 6 years in a managerial role
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
• Strong experience in budgeting, vendor management, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Analytical and strategic mindset with ability to manage simultaneous projects
• Experience in healthcare or similar regulated environments advantageous
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing multiple service areas
• Strong collaborative skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Independent decision-maker capable of crisis management
