About the Role

 

The Division of Cancer Education (DCE) at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) is growing to meet the evolving needs of medical schools and an ever-changing medical education landscape. 

 

To continue its ground-breaking educational work into enhancing care of patients, families and staff in Palliative Care, Medical Oncology, ethics, professionalism, communication, professional identity formation and medical humanities, the incumbent will provide support to the Principle Investigators (PI) on the education research capacity of DCE Education Units. 

 

Under the guidance of the Principal Investigators (PI), the incumbent will edit manuscripts, manage research projects, assist with conducting and analysing qualitative interviews and assist with submission of manuscripts to peer reviewed journals:

 

  • Oversee day-to-day operations related to education research studies 
  • Monitor and oversee progress of studies and research projects
  • Management of Research Agreements
  • Provide supervision and training of team members, researchers and local medical students
  • Data Collection, entry and analysis 
  • Support Grant Submissions, IRB submissions and pre- and post-award management
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Recognized Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in related field - Social Sciences or Humanities background will be added advantage 
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience as a research coordinator/ research assistant or other related positions Experience working with academic health researchers preferred and would be advantageous.
  • Experience in conducting and analysing qualitative interviews, research data management, project management, administration and communications required. 
  • Demonstrated good knowledge, skills and expertise in supporting various research activities and understanding of research principles and activities
  • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and EndNote is an added advantage 
  • Possess strong analytical and administrative skills.

  • Detail oriented and meticulous 
  • Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Proactive leadership skills.
  • Able to work independently under time pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to multi-task and work on different portfolios and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce
