You will be part of the research team under the Heart Protection theme at the National Heart Research Institute of Singapore (NHRIS), National Heart Centre of Singapore (NHCS). You will lead and coordinate multi-institutional cardiovascular research programmes, ensuring tight integration across scientific, clinical, and operational activities. Working closely with Principal Investigators and platform leads, you will translate strategic objectives into executable project plans covering scope, timelines, milestones, resources, and deliverables, while monitoring progress, risks, and interdependencies across multiple workstreams.

 

A key part of your work involves preparing and consolidating grant and programme reports, including mid-term, annual, and final reports, in line with funding agency requirements, ensuring timely delivery. You will also support business development activities by identifying, engaging, and maintaining relationships with industry partners, and shaping research collaboration agreements.

 

Beyond scientific and strategic responsibilities, you will manage key stakeholders across hospitals, research institutions, and industry, while overseeing administrative functions such as facilitating meetings, managing agreements, and budgeting to ensure the smooth operation of the programmes.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Cardiovascular Sciences, Translational Medicine, or a related scientific discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in academic, hospital, or translational research environments, with a strong background in cardiovascular and pre-clinical research programmes (e.g. in-vitro models, animal studies, or advanced disease-modelling platforms), and experience supervising or coordinating junior staff, research assistants, or project team members.
  • Project management training or certification (e.g. PMP® or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of human-relevant disease models, particularly iPSC-derived models and other advanced in-vitro platforms, would be an advantage.
  • Experience with grant-funded research and familiarity with reporting, budget tracking, and compliance requirements within public or institutional funding frameworks is preferred.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional, multi-institutional teams.
