About National Neuroscience Institute

The National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) is the national and regional specialist centre for conditions of the brain, spine, nerves and muscles. NNI offers treatment for over 20 subspecialties, including stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, brain tumour and brain injury.

NNI operates out of two main campuses (Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH)) and four partner hospitals (Changi General Hospital (CGH), KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH), Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) and Sengkang General Hospital (SKH)).

NNI is a member of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre.

About Neuroscience Academic Clinical Programme (ACP)

The Neuroscience ACP exemplifies the spirit of excellence and values of NNI in putting patients as our priority. Our mission and goals have always been built on the three pillars of strength to improve the lives of our patients through Patient Care, Education and Research. We have always been involved in academic activities and have a high level of interest in research.

Academic Medicine involves the entire body of NNI. Clinicians, scientists, nurses, allied health professionals, ancillary and administrative staff have a part to play in it. The introduction of the ACP is a major milestone in NNI’s journey of improving patient care and outcomes. With the formation of the Neuroscience ACP, we can now devote more resources to further achieve our mission of driving innovation in Care, Education and Research. The pursuit of our academic mission is primarily to improve patient care and to transform the delivery of care not only in Singapore but in the region.

About the role

As an integral part of Neuroscience ACP Secretariat, he/she will be supporting some of the following duties*:

*exact work portfolio will be regularly adjusted on a consultative manner, with consideration on individual capability, experience, personal interest and future aspiration

Grant Management

  • Lead end-to-end grant management process, from grant application, budget management, to progress tracking and reporting
  • Support on relevant legal matters such as contract management, MOU, etc.
  • Provide support to strategic initiatives such as philanthropic engagements, external collaborations, etc.

Faculty Engagement and Development

  • Facilitate faculty and non-faculty engagement and development
  • Coordinate the end-to-end process for Academic Appointments, Promotions and Tenure
  • Lead strategic outreach and mentorship programs

Drive Strategic Growth

  • Drive growth of Neuroscience Innovation through initiatives such as culture building activities and events, strategic planning, program management, etc.
  • Support the shaping and growth of Neuroscience Global Health
  • Support adhoc strategic initiatives and special projects e.g. process improvements, digital transformation, etc.

Skills required

  • Bachelor degree with relevant working experience preferred (for more senior position); Entry-Level candidates are welcome to apply (for entry-level position).
  • Comfortable with technology; Proficient in digital tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Tableau, Smartsheet and Canva highly preferred.
  • Experience &/ certification in any of the following areas highly desirable: project management, change management, grant management, strategic planning, talent development, event planning, data analysis and visualisation
