Job Description
We have a research position available in the Translational Therapeutics Laboratory of National Neuroscience Institute of Singapore (lab located in Neuroscience and Behavioral Disorders Program in Duke-NUS Medical School). We are looking for highly motivated candidates (BSc, MSc or Ph.D) who have a strong desire and passion to search for and validate novel molecular targets, biomarkers and therapeutic pre-drugs in multiple in vitro and in vivo disease models against neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease and other human neurodegenerative disorders.
Highly meticulous researchers will be performing challenging and interesting molecular and cellular translational neuroscience research on human neurodegenerative diseases.
In addition, the candidate is expected to have independent working capability on experimental design, innovative and scientific thinking, multiple task handlings and manuscripts composition. The candidate should have effective and versatile techniques and experiences on handling proteins, nucleic acids, neuronal and stem cells, C elegan and as part of a team including enthusiastic, pro-active and co-operative approaches.
Job Requirements
- At least a Master degree in Life Sciences preferably, with at least two years of wet lab experience, preferably majoring in Genetics / Biochemistry & Cellular Biology / Pharmacology or related fields
- Applicants with a strong background in cellular & molecular biology and prior research experience on stem cell technology, protein-protein interactions, transcriptional factors and gene expression modulations, C elegans disease models, gene edition as well as bioinformatics data analysis are preferred.
- Previous experience with stem cell biology, transcriptional factors and gene expression modulations, protein-protein interactions, C elegan models, gene edition and bioinformatics data analysis would be an added advantage.
