A Research Fellow position is available in the Department of Neurology Research at the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore. Our focus is to use neuroimaging techniques as a surrogate pathological marker to understand the underlying neurobiological basis of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia, especially in the preclinical stages.

 

We are seeking driven, highly motivated individuals with initiative, who have interest and extensive research experience in neuroimaging processing and analyses (e.g. morphological, diffusion, SWI, MWI, functional MRI etc) using FreeSurfer, Statistical Parametric Mapping, FMRIB Software Library, MRTrix and other related softwares; and demonstrate academic excellence including publications in first-class journals and conferences.

 

The candidate will support our efforts either in advancing neuroimaging analysis technologies or in neuroscience applications.

 

The successful candiate will be part of a diverse group including neuroscientists, neurologists, neuroradiologists, psychologists, physicists, biostatisticians, computer scientists, technologists and research coordinators, and will build upon the group’s extensive foundation on neuroimaging analysis.

 

Requirements

  • Recognised PhD in Neuroscience, Neuroimaging, Computer Science, Applied Mathematicis/Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of post-PhD experience with at least 2 publications as first or last author
  • Capable of competing for grant funding
  • Good command of programming tools including Matlab, C++, Linux and scripting
  • Able to supervise, coordinate and provide direction to members of a research project team
  • Excellent writing and communication skill
  • Good team player and is able to work independently
