The Calcium Signaling Laboratory at NNI is seeking a highly motivated Research Officer. The lab focuses on studying calcium signaling pathways and their implications in neurological diseases.
The selected candidate will support ongoing research projects and be responsible for:
- Maintaining mouse and rat colonies
- Establishing animal disease models and conducting behavioral tests
- Performing immunohistochemical staining of brain slices
- Conducting cell culture and transfection experiments
- Performing biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques, including co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP), cloning, and PCR
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a biomedical background
- Ability to perform animal experiments, particularly in models of degenerative diseases such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, vascular dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease
- Proficiency in cell culture, transfection, biochemical assays, tissue sectioning, and immunostaining
- Ability to write reports in English
- Patch-clamp experience is a plus
