Senior Engineer

Job Responsibilities

The National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team. 
 
You will support the management and lifecycle of biomedical equipment to ensure its safety, reliability, and availability for clinical use. Working closely with clinical users, vendors, and stakeholders, you will coordinate maintenance, equipment renewal, regulatory compliance, and project implementation activities. You will also support the management of facilities, building infrastructure, and engineering systems to provide a safe and efficient environment for clinical and operational services.
 
Some of the Key Responsibilities include
•    Commissioning biomedical equipment and systems to verify safety and performance in accordance with manufacturer’s specification
•    Troubleshoot and rectify equipment malfunctions
•    Identify, schedule, and manage in-house maintenance activities for biomedical equipment, including maintenance records, reports, and data analytics.
•    Prepare, submit, and present investigation reports to management team
•    Liaise with stakeholders to develop technical specifications, evaluate tenders, negotiate with vendors, and recommend equipment purchases.
•    Facilitate essential inter-institution and inter-department collaborations and promote teamwork
•    Provide technical assistance and operating support to doctors, nurses and end-users on asset improvements and equipment purchases as needed
•    Manage and coordinate biomedical equipment-related renovation, relocation, and infrastructure enhancement projects
•    Work with TTSH & SGH Facilities Services especially in areas such as security, telecommunications and environmental services
•    Assist the supervisor in the following areas:

1. Coordinate all service and repair activities of the section, including liaising with stakeholders and vendors, prioritizing work assignments for the staff, assigning work, and monitoring their work for accuracy, completeness, and safety
2. Manage service and maintenance contracts
3. Participate in cluster-level projects and coordinate meetings, prepare necessary documents and update policies and procedures
4. Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Degree holder in Biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
• Strong experience in business operations and project management especially in large establishment or in an institution preferably in the healthcare industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated initiative in managing projects and ensuring effective maintenance practices
• Independent, resourceful, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Dependable, self-motivated and able to co-operate with external vendors and operators
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate constructively with stakeholders across all levels
