Research Associate (Contract)
The Research Associate will support the Research & Innovation department of SingHealth Community Hospitals (SCH). The Research Associate will implement the Research department’s 5-year strategic plan for the development of research in SCH and the intermediate and long-term care sector. He/she will conduct literature reviews, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including collecting data in various settings for the research projects that the department is involved in. He/she will contribute towards SCH’s BSC KPIs (but not limited to) of clinician scientists, journals published in top tier journals, and national-level research funding. He/she will attend as-needed meetings called by Director (Research) and actively contribute ideas at these meetings. He/she will facilitate research talks and training sessions conducted by the department to generate the spirit/climate of inquiry and innovation amongst SCH staff. The Research Associate will assist in supervising internship students. The Research Associate will assist with the department’s initiatives, as and when required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (life sciences, nursing, pharmacy, public health, psychology or sociology) with relevant experience
- A Masters’ degree in Public Health will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with data collection through qualitative methods e.g. interviews and/or focus group discussions
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to understand dialects will be an advantage.
- Good scientific writing skills
- Having some implementation science research experience will be an advantage
- Having knowledge of Nvivo, SPSS and Stata softwares will be an advantage
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and within a team of researchers
