Auditory-Verbal Therapist

Works in a multidisciplinary team (doctors, nurses and allied health professionals) to provide individualised Auditory-Verbal therapy to hearing-impaired individuals and provide guidance to their caregivers.

Job Description:

• Conducts well-prepared, organised, flexible and diagnostic sessions.
• Is aware of a child’s auditory information and develops a child’s auditory skills with the use of auditory-verbal strategies.
• Develops a child’s language and speech through audition and with the use of auditory-verbal strategies
• Develops a child’s interest in books, letter awareness and phonemic awareness
• Able to guide parents to participate in habilitation programme and therapy.
• Demonstrates appropriate diagnostic and reporting skills.
• Supports the integration of children with hearing loss in mainstream education
• Maintains professional standards in practice.
• Participates in and/ or takes responsibility for projects and activities which support the goals of the department and hospital.
• To carry out any other administrative duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Director

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree or equivalent post-graduate degree/diploma audiology, speech-language

pathology, and/or education of the hearing impaired. 

• Experience as an Auditory-Verbal Therapist, with Degree and Certification and clinical attachment with demonstrated competency.
• Candidates have to be LSLS Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist
• Fully vaccinated of Covid-19
