Senior / Medical Laboratory Scientist (Molecular Laboratory)

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic clinical laboratory involved in molecular diagnostics for the detection of infectious agents as well as for pharmacogenomics. You will be involved in the development and the evaluation of new molecular tests using PCR and sequencing techniques. You will be performing routine specialized molecular tests and will be involved in quality improvement, laboratory management duties, staff training and supervision.

Requirements

• Master of Science or PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in molecular techniques
• BSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant work experience in molecular techniques
• Prior work, supervisory and laboratory management experience in a clinical laboratory will be considered favourably.
• Candidate should have experience in developing, evaluating and performing molecular tests, e.g. polymerase chain reaction.
• Entry Level MSc or PhD candidates may be considered if they have relevant skills.
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
