Senior/ Research Associate (HSRU)

The Health Services Research Unit (HSRU) is the enabler for health services research in support of the vision and strategies for research in SGH, including supporting SGH Research Peaks and other research areas. As an enabler of research in SGH, HSRU needs to execute research support excellently, efficiently and with empathy. 

You report directly to the Manager and indirectly to the Director of the Unit and assists them to achieve the goals of the Unit. You are responsible to conduct programme evaluations and health technology assessments for the hospital. 

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Assist management with concept evaluation of programme proposals  
• Work with programme teams to evaluate the value/ outcomes of ongoing programmes
• Assist the management with systematic review and synthesis of evidences on the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and budget impact of new technologies
• Provide training and consultation to develop expertise in and a culture of programme and technology evaluation 

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree in public health, health economics, epidemiology, operations research, social sciences, or statistics.
• At least 3 years of experience in conducting programme evaluation and at least 1 year of experience in conducting HTA.  
• Experience in using standard statistical package (SPSS/STATA/R) and qualitative analysis software Nvivo
• Excellent project management skill
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
