Our Speech Therapy Department provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for adult and pediatric swallowing, speech, language, and communication disorders, including voice, stuttering, and head/neck cancer care.

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Speech Therapist to provide expert feeding assessment and intervention for preterm and medically complex neonates.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive feeding assessments for preterm and medically complex neonates

  • Develop and implement individualised feeding intervention plans using responsive and developmental feeding approaches

  • Provide communication support and early intervention for at-risk infants

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver comprehensive care across the continuum from intensive care to outpatient services.

  • Support families through education, training, and family-integrated care practices

  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and operational activities

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or equivalent) OR Masters of Science in Speech Pathology with Certificate of Clinical Competence

  • 4-6 years of relevant clinical experience in acute hospital settings

  • 2-5 years of specialised experience in neonatal assessment and intervention

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong collaborative approach to multidisciplinary teamwork
