Deputy / Director, Office of Deputy Group Chief Medical Informatics Officer (Research)
Reporting to Deputy Group Chief Medical Informatics Officer (Research), you will serve as a key architect in defining and operationalising SingHealth's vision for future-ready research informatics and data-driven transformation. You will interface closely with senior leaders across SingHealth Institutions to drive data science research and innovation across the cluster. You will shape institutional strategy for AI / Machine Learning, big data, and digital innovation while directly managing a cross-functional team of staff. You will represent SingHealth in high-level national and international executive committees and engage corresponding leads in Ministry of Health, national agencies, and local & international academic and industry partners to advance data science, AI and digital health research initiatives across the healthcare system.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Serve as principal liaison across various stakeholder groups to align technical & data solutions with clinical research & innovation needs.
- Spearhead the design and scaling of the SingHealth Data Science Innovation & Research Platforms (SDIRP) to serve present and future research data needs.
- Drive enterprise-wide data integration, by breaking down data and system silos to embed a unified, interoperable data infrastructure.
- Oversee Epic implementation for research, aligning clinical and research workflows with data capture processes.
- Direct advanced data engineering efforts to enable interoperability, standardisation, and readiness of data pipelines for real-world evidence generation—leveraging NLP/LLM methods, multimodal data integration and the OMOP Common Data Model.
- Shape scalable, ethical, and secure data access & governance frameworks & policies conducive for population-level research and innovation.
- Grow a vibrant data science research & innovation ecosystem through enablement and education.
- Develop strategic academic, industry, and partnerships, including secure data sharing, federated learning and trusted research environments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Biostatistics, Computing, or any relevant quantitative discipline
- A Master’s or Doctoral Degree is an added advantage
- At least 14 years of relevant working experience, preferably in health services research
- Competence in strategic planning, cross-sector stakeholder influence, and research infrastructure implementation and/or governance
- Proven track record in managing multimillion-dollar budget, inter-institutional research & innovation initiatives
- Knowledge of clinical care, scientific advancement, data infrastructure design and data governance
- An individual who is forward-looking and future ready, embracing disruption while grounding change in achievable milestones and collaborative momentum
- A strategic thinker who is mature, organised, responsible and experienced in leading a team
