You will contribute to transforming clinical challenges into breakthrough medical solutions that improve patient care throughout our network of hospitals and institutions.

We are seeking an Engineer to drive the development of innovative medical technology solutions from concept to commercialisation. You will work closely with clinicians, technology partners, and research teams to create prototypes, secure funding, and advance projects that address real healthcare challenges.

 

What You Will Do:

You will identify and validate unmet clinical needs through clinical immersion and stakeholder engagement, conducting risk assessments and filtering opportunities based on regulatory requirements and commercial viability. Your role involves managing innovation projects from conception through development, ensuring timely completion of milestones and compliance with grant agency requirements.

You will contribute to grant applications by drafting proposals and coordinating funding submissions, whilst creating comprehensive documentation including meeting records, project reports, and regulatory compliance materials. Additionally, you will develop prototypes using computer-aided design and simulation tools, facilitate partnerships between clinicians and technology providers, and support educational initiatives that nurture clinician innovators across SingHealth and Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre through seminars, outreach events, and attachment opportunities.

 

Job Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Biochemistry or Product Development Engineering

• Preferably 2 years of relevant working experience in medical device product development

• Strong technical skills in CAD and simulation software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, LabView, MatLab

• Hands-on experience with specialised equipment such as thermal scanners and 3D scanners would be advantageous

• Good knowledge of ISO 13485, IEC62304, CE Mark Certification, and medical device regulatory requirements will be advantageous

• Experience in defining product requirements, prototyping build and test plan for verification and validation will be advantageous (System/Software/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)

• Basic understanding of clinical trial procedures and regulatory authority requirements

• Passion for healthcare innovation and medical technology commercialisation

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities with strong technical writing skills
