Manager, Joint Office of Academic Medicine
Join the SingHealth Duke-NUS Joint Office of Academic Medicine (JOAM) and take on a meaningful role in shaping the academic talent landscape across one of Singapore's most prominent Academic Medical Centres (AMC). JOAM serves as the catalyst and enabler for Academic Medicine across the SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC, working to build an integrated ecosystem that empowers clinicians, researchers, and academic leaders throughout our network of institutions.
We are seeking a Manager to lead the Academic Talent Development & Support team, driving programmes and initiatives that strengthen the faculty and clinician researcher pipeline across our Academic Clinical Programmes (ACPs), Joint Institutes (JIs), and SingHealth Duke-NUS Disease Centres (SDDCs). You will work closely with senior management, clinician leaders, and faculty to ensure that academic talent is recognised, supported, and developed in alignment with AMC priorities.
What You Will Do:
You will provide leadership and strategic oversight for all Academic Talent Development & Support initiatives, leading and mentoring a team while managing budgets, resources, and workplans to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement. You will establish frameworks and processes for new initiatives as they arise, ensuring compliance with Duke-NUS and SingHealth policies throughout.
A core part of your role involves overseeing the Academic Medicine (AM) Named Donor Distinguished and Faculty Professorships programme, coordinating nominations, renewals, academic support timelines, and fund management, while developing engagement plans and monitoring dashboards to support professorship holders. You will also oversee coordination and administrative support for Tenure Track and Tenured Faculty, including liaison with ACPs and stakeholders and the processing of academic support reimbursements.
You will manage the planning and implementation of Peer Support Groups (PSGs) for faculty and stakeholders, working closely with PSG Leads to develop workplans and organise events and activities that support engagement and development goals. You will also oversee the Clinician Investigator Advancement Awards (CIVA) and Clinical Trialist Development Awards (CTDA), managing the full cycle from nominations and approvals through to recognition, engagement, and the organisation of a bi-annual Awards Day. This includes streamlining award administration for greater efficiency and raising awareness of clinician researchers and their contributions across the AMC.
As staff officer for the Strategic Hire and Research Talent Hire process, you will ensure stakeholders are clear on procedures, develop and maintain guidelines and documentation, and provide process clarifications and support to all involved parties. You will also oversee the development of communications collaterals, toolkits, and website content to promote academic talent initiatives, coordinating with vendors on design briefs and managing uploads to the SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC website. You may occasionally support broader talent engagement initiatives such as MD-PhD student and graduate engagement activities.
