The SingHealth Duke-NUS Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Institute (AIMI) is a collaborative venture that harnesses the AI and data science expertise of both healthcare institutions. This pioneering institute focuses on developing cutting-edge AI healthcare solutions, promoting their safe implementation, and advancing AI education. AIMI aims to transform healthcare delivery through strategic commercial partnerships and innovative research translation.

The Principal Investigator will lead pioneering research in AI/ML/LLM at the intersection of AI and healthcare. The candidate will be responsible for publishing in high-impact journals, securing competitive funding, and translating AI innovations into clinical practice. This will also include forging collaboration with relevant departments and researchers within SingHealth, Duke-NUS and the other research institutes in Singapore.

 

Your job responsibilities include:

  • Conduct and oversee research in AI and its applications in medicine
  • Oversee collaborative projects with academic, industry, and healthcare partners to translate AI innovations into real-world healthcare settings.
  • Ensure ethical compliance and obtain Institutional Review Board approvals for clinical studies
  • Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary research team, providing mentorship and ensuring effective project execution
  • Secure funding and draft grant applications for AI projects
  • Publish in high-impact journals and present at conferences
  • Build partnerships with industry, academic institutions, and healthcare providers to facilitate research and commercialization.
  • Support education initiatives of AI in Healthcare

 

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline such as computing, data science, AI/ML, engineering, health-sciences
  • A minimum of 3 years post-doctoral experience, preferably in AI/ML, health, medical or digital (non-medical) technology
  • Strong record of research and relevant publications in reputable peer-reviewed international journals, with at least 3 publications as first or last author.
  • Demonstrated the ability to obtain external research funding and sustained grant funding
  • Experienced in cross disciplinary research initiatives and collaborations
