Principal Mechanical Engineer (Hospital and Services Planning), EGH Planning Office

We are seeking a dynamic individual to work closely with various stakeholders in developing an operational model and detailed plan that aligns with the hospital's care model, technology adaptations, and strategic directions. This will involve creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and researching emerging trends and best practices. In this role, you will engage with SingHealth on improvement initiatives, the latest SOPs, and operational work process enhancements. You will also support the training and development needs of operations staff at the nesting sites, and assist the team in overseeing project schedules, budgets, and contract arrangements.
You will review change requests and perform on-site inspections for added quality assurance. Additionally, you will work with user workgroups to develop commissioning and relocation plans, facilitate the installation and commissioning of facilities and equipment, including testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and products. You will also manage defects rectifications and ensure operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with understanding of mechanical design principles and safety standards in the operations and maintenance of a large Healthcare Facilities of a similar capacity
- High level of knowledge and proficiency with Building, M&E, general building maintenance and operations
- Knowledge and skill in design thinking, change management, project management, technology adoption and process methodologies, would be a strong advantage
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM), Photoshop and presentation software
- Strong team player with excellent planning and action-oriented
- Able to engage various stakeholders in a fluid environment within a growing organisation
- Capable of working under pressure and adapting to demanding conditions
