The Research Fellow will support the evaluation of innovation projects, which is a critical step in identifying high impact projects that benefit patients and/or staff with the potential for cost savings. He or She will:

 

  1. Independently conduct systematic and non-systematic literature review using various search engines and public databases to evaluate the potential value of health innovations.
  2. Identify subject areas for data extraction, conduct data extraction and data wrangling from institutional databases to support the evaluation of the potential value of health innovations and for specific research projects.
  3. Draft and format evaluation reports for innovation teams and management reporting.
  4. Prepare PowerPoint presentations to various stakeholders and present as necessary.
  5. Manage projects from start to end (i.e. develop research objectives and study design, perform data extraction and data collation, conduct data modelling, perform statistical analysis and engage and collaborate with various stakeholders)
  6. Perform statistical analysis and other data analysis for various impact assessment projects
  7. Perform health technology assessments (cost analysis, cost effectiveness analysis, cost utility analysis or budget impact analysis).
  8. Draft research abstracts and manuscripts.
  9. Provide guidance to junior staff in the evaluation of innovation projects, including study design, implementation, analysis and communication of findings.
  10. Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Head of Department (HOD) and/or supervisor incidental to the work described therein.

 

Job Requirements

 

· PhD in Health Economics.

· Minimum 3 years of work experience (preferably working with data and/or impact assessment). Experience in healthcare would be an added advantage.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Statistical applications.

· Proficiency in Project Management.

· Prior experience working with data, including processing raw data to visualise trends, ability to make sense of patterns and quantitative impact assessment. 

· Knowledge of programming such as VBA, R, Python etc. is helpful.

· Knowledge and skill in data analytics, statistics, data visualisation is essential.

· Knowledge and experience in horizon scanning, benchmarking and data research, statistical tools and techniques would be an added advantage.

· Adept at handling complex, ambiguous and challenging situations.

· Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work both independently with limited supervision and in a team.

· Action-oriented, highly motivated and target-focused.

· Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
