Veterinary Technician, National Large Animal Research Facility (2-year contract)

SingHealth Experimental Medicine Centre runs several core facilities for translational research in SingHealth as well as the National Large Animal Research Facility. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will be responsible in supporting the implementation of policies and initiatives for animal husbandry and care.

You will be involved in the maintenance of animal inventory, equipment and facilities to ensure full compliance with National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR) guidelines, Animal and Veterinary Services (AVS) requirements and American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) international standards. You will be responsible for ensuring provision for veterinary husbandry and care as well as help in running the animal housing and breeding facilities.

You will also assist with administering appropriate treatments and medications to animals when necessary. In addition, you will help to prepare and set up training activities.

Requirements

• Animal Science/Husbandry or Veterinary Technology Diploma with minimum 1 years of relevant experience or
• Candidates with a Diploma in any discipline with minimum 2 years of relevant experience or GCE A / O / N Level with minimum 5 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply
• Ability to handle small and large animal work and perform shift duties, including weekends and public holidays
• Highly motivated with leadership and strong interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
