The SingHealth Polyclinic’s (SHP) Healthcare Information (HI) team’s Vision takes after that of SHP’s Data Administration Group (DAG), which is “A data-driven approach to better and safer care, with seamless access to data and analysis”. HI consists of 4 sub-teams – Data Management, Healthcare Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Stakeholder Success.

 

To achieve our Vision, the Analyst of HI’s Data Management team will work on the user-side to ensure databases are ready for use by:

  1. leading and facilitating requirements gathering sessions to collect SHP users’ requirements for data extraction and Change Requests (CRs), and liaising with IT vendors (e.g. Integrated Health Information Systems; IHiS) to ensure SHP’s requirements will be met
  2. understanding the complexity and structure of the databases/Subject Areas in the data warehouse (eHints) and helping SHP users extract required data, whether by scripting within OBIEE/SQL or other programming language (e.g. Python/R), creating reports/dashboards as required
  3. maintaining a data dictionary to keep track of all relevant data definitions, and meticulously document and update all changes to the data dictionary
  4. perform secretariat duties for the Data Administration Group

 

You will also assist in managing some general administrative duties.

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience in data extraction via SQL scripts (e.g. within OBIEE) and data quality management and monitoring, preferably with experience in the Healthcare industry
  • Proven track record in managing data within an organisation, with experience with data catalogue and data governance
  • Experience with user acceptance test processes for system implementations and/or data reports
  • Experience with data visualisation software such as Tableau, and programming languages such as Python/R, would be a plus
  • Familiarity with public sector data governance policies and data analytics work would be a plus
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to dig enough to uncover users’ needs, work within a cross-matrix team or solo, and present requirements/solutions to users and vendor alike
