Clinical / Research Fellow (Ocular Imaging Research Group) - Medical Image Processing
Job Description
Healthcare is one of the most promising research directions in artificial intelligence (AI) for industry, public health and academia, and AI-driven solutions have the potential to make significant impact in society by enabling better patient management through improved diagnosis and treatment.
The Singapore National Eye Centre/Singapore Eye Research Institute (SNEC/SERI) is seeking a highly qualified individual to take on a significant role in this exciting and rapidly developing research direction at the cross-roads of healthcare and artificial intelligence.
He/ She will be expected, but not limited to:
- Perform research in medical image processing and develop novel approaches to multimodal imaging (2D and 3D) including segmentation, image processing and AI or machine learning-based approaches.
- Perform investigative tests such as, but not limited to, visual field test, optical coherence tomography, axial length and anterior chamber depth measurement and corneal topography.
- Conduct and coordinate research within SNEC/SERI and NTU in line with its research strategy and under the direction and supervision of the Principal Investigators and Collaborators.
- Manage these research projects in a team-based, cross-functional research environment, which include supervising doctoral and master candidates, research assistants, and technical and other support staff
- Publish research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing and to publish and disseminate the result of research and scholarship in other reputable outlets.
- Attend and present research findings and papers at academic and professional conferences, and to contribute to the external visibility of the department.
- Draft research report for Principal Investigators.
- Undertake specific roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the Principal Investigators.
- Attend meetings and to participate (where necessary) in other committees and working groups within SNEC/SERI and NTU.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of work.
Job Requirements
- M.D. or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- Previous experience in optical coherence tomography (OCT), software development in OCT and OCT signal analysis would be an advantage.
- Possess good programming and image processing skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python).
- Able to work independently, as well as in a team-based, cross-functional research team.
Note: Package will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
