Enrolled Nurse II, Dayward

Job Description: 

• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with public and colleagues.

• Demonstrate good service behaviours in accordance to the Centre’s standards.

• Demonstrate good situational handling skills when attending to difficult patients.

• Assist SSN / SN / PEN/ SEN in the implementation of Ophthalmic Nursing care plan and activities. 

• Perform Basic nursing care activities independently. 

• Record observations on patient’s vital signs and report to the staff nurse promptly of any changes. 

• Assist Doctor during treatments and examination of patients. 

• Perform designated procedures such as Eye Dressing; assist in Instillation of Eye drops and Blood Glucose monitoring for Diabetic patients. 

• Conduct patient teaching based on needs of patients. 

• Assists in conducting Discharge Planning and teaching for patient / caregivers. 

• Assist Doctor during Squint re-adjustment procedures, and Ocular examinations in the unit.

• Checking of casenotes for next day’s operations.

• Perform ECG as required.

• Practice standard precaution and hand hygiene when in contact with patients / patient related activities and surroundings.

• Observe proper disposal of waste in accordance to established guidelines.

Job Requirements: 

• Possess a recognised Nursing Qualification (E.g. NITEC in Nursing).

• Registered as an Enrolled Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board.

• At least 1 year of experience in healthcare operating theatre settings is preferred.

• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.

• Able to thrive in fast-paced environment.

• Proactive and supportive in carrying out new initiatives.
